Roll-Off Dumpster Rental FAQs

Placing an Order

How far in advance do I need to order my roll-off dumpster rental?

All orders must be placed at least one business day in advance of your preferred delivery date to allow for processing. When ordering online, you will see available delivery dates on a calendar. We cannot guarantee specific delivery times throughout the day, so if you need your roll-off rental dumpster first thing in the morning, we recommend having it delivered the day before to ensure it is in place ahead of schedule.

Is ordering service available 24/7?

Yes! You can order construction dumpsters online anytime, but remember that all orders must be placed at least one business day in advance of your desired delivery date to allow for processing. Telephone orders may be placed during regular business hours.

How do I change or cancel an order?

Simply call ASAP Site Services to make any changes to your construction dumpsters order. Please have your receipt and your order number available when you call to change or cancel your order. All changes must take place one business day in advance to allow for processing. Canceled orders may incur a cancellation fee.

How do I choose the right dumpster size?

Consider both the exterior dimensions and interior capacity when choosing which roll-off dumpster size to rent for your construction project. The exterior is measured in feet, so ensure enough room for your preferred dumpster size in your ideal placement site. The interior is measured in cubic yards. One cubic yard is roughly the size of a standard kitchen oven, so think about how many ovens worth of waste and construction debris you’ll need to dispose of.

When should I order a clean dirt or clean concrete roll-off dumpster?

What can go in a dumpster, and what cannot go in a dumpster? For demolition projects, certain recyclable trash materials such as clean concrete, manure, driveway pavement, brick, tile, and concrete blocks may not be disposed of in a standard roll-off dumpster. However, clean dirt is acceptable in a standard roll-off dumpster. Order a separate clean rental dumpster for each clean material you need us to haul—because these materials are recyclable; they cannot be mixed within the same commercial dumpster.

What if I need to keep my roll-off dumpster rental longer or have it removed sooner than anticipated?

All changes to your order must be made at least one business day in advance to allow for processing. There is an additional charge for keeping the dumpster longer than originally elected in your order.

Roll-Off Dumpster Placement

Do I need a permit to have a roll-off dumpster at my location?

Generally, you do not need a permit to place a roll-off dumpster on private property, such as your yard or driveway. You may need a permit from your local municipality to place one in a public area, such as the street, the sidewalk, or a park. Contact your local municipality to learn more about permit requirements before ordering your roll-off dumpster rental.

Can I place a roll-off dumpster on the street?

It depends on the rules and regulations of your local municipality. Some local governments won’t allow you to place a commercial dumpster on the street at all, while others may require a permit. See above for permitting information.

How much space do I need to place a dumpster at my location?

Please refer to the dimensions for each roll-off dumpster rental product. We recommend that you provide space to accommodate double the amount of the width and height of the dumpster to ensure adequate height and space clearance. Also, leave an additional 10’ for the door that swings open at the back of the dumpster.

Will a roll-off dumpster cause driveway damage?

ASAP Site Services highly recommends that you protect any surface that will make contact with your roll-off dumpster rental with a 4’ x 8’ sheet of plywood. The customer affirms that any right-of-way provided by the customer (disclosed in delivery questions) for the roll-off dumpster is sufficient to bear the weight of all contractors’ equipment and vehicles required to perform the contracted service. The customer assumes all liabilities for damages to private driving surfaces, pavement, or road surfaces, and the entire dumpster placement site. ASAP Site Services and its affiliates shall not be responsible for any damages to any private driving surface, pavement, or accompanying subsurface on any route associated with performing the contracted service.

Delivery, Pickup, and Hauling

What if the driver comes for delivery or removal, and I am not ready for the dumpster to be delivered or removed?

An extra trip will incur additional charges beyond your initial quote, as per our terms and conditions.

Is it necessary for someone to be there when they deliver or remove my dumpster?

It is not necessary to have someone onsite to deliver or remove the dumpster. However, if you will not be present at the time of delivery or removal, please be as detailed as possible when answering the delivery questions while you place your order; otherwise, the driver will use their judgment and place the dumpster in the safest accessible area. If an onsite contact is unavailable for delivery, you will be responsible for all charges involved to relocate the yard dumpster, should it be necessary. For removal, the customer agrees to provide unobstructed access to the dumpster on the scheduled pickup day. If the yard dumpster is inaccessible and the driver cannot complete hauling, the customer will be charged an additional “dry run” fee.

How can I make sure my dumpster is ready for removal?

Your dumpster must be easily accessible when the driver arrives for removal. Make sure they have safe and convenient access to your roll-off dumpster. The top of the dumpster must be level when the driver arrives—contents cannot extend beyond the dumpster’s rim. Failure to prepare your dumpster for adequate hauling will result in an additional “dry run” fee.

Will I be billed for extra weight?

Yes, if a single load exceeds the tonnage quoted in your rental order, you will incur additional overage charges as per the terms and conditions.

What if I need an extra haul?

You can request additional hauls with your order. Please note that you will be charged the full initial quoted amount for each additional service requested with your dumpster rental order. However, your order confirmation email may contain a promotional code for discounts on additional services.
